What are stone offcuts?
As well as stunning whole stone slabs, here at Landford Stone we offer a wide selection of part slabs and stone offcuts that are ideal for smaller projects and creative minds!
These beautiful pieces of leftover material are most often larger slabs of natural or engineered stone that have been cut and shaped into bespoke kitchen worktops. This process involves using very specific dimensions that can leave a sizeable area of stone untouched, producing sections of material that can vary considerably in both size and shape. In savvy and inventive hands, offcuts present endless opportunities for smaller projects at a fraction of the usual cost, as well as being a sustainable choice that reduces wastage in the stone fabrication process.
What are the most common alternative and smaller projects clients can use stone offcuts for?
Stone offcuts can be incredibly effective for all sorts of spaces, dependent on the scale of your project and the offcuts currently available. As a major fabricator of stone worktops, Landford Stone always has a vast array of stone offcuts available to choose from, all of which are perfect for a variety of smaller projects including:
- Fire hearths & surrounds
- Coffee tables
- Outdoor BBQ areas or tables
- Vanity tops
- Cloakrooms
- Boot rooms
- Outhouses
- Windowsills
- Utility rooms
- Small kitchen projects
- Larder shelves
- Doorsteps
- Signage
This list is by no means exhaustive, and we have had customers use our fabulous stone offcuts for more projects than we can name, from pizza ovens to skirting, to kitting out campervans and even yachts!
Due to the size of the stone slabs that we use, we have even had many happy customers who are able to create full worktops for smaller kitchens using offcuts alone.
What sort of savings can one enjoy by using offcuts in projects?
The major benefit of using offcuts in your project is the considerable financial savings that can be made. Almost all of our offcuts are charged at the same fair price (apart from a select number of premium stones), so sensational savings of up to 75% can be made! What’s more, some part slabs are large enough for smaller islands or bigger projects so it’s really worth getting in touch to see what’s currently on offer.
We are also more than happy to work with any other granite company looking to purchase part slabs. Please contact us to enquire or book an appointment to view all the offcuts we have on offer. Moreover, we offer a delivery service which can be arranged with us directly.
