Achieve the look and feel of natural stone without any of the drawbacks.

Being man-made, quartz can be supplied in an abundance of beautiful colours and patterns, including marble-like veining. It is extremely strong, hard-wearing and non-porous, making it a fantastic alternative to some natural stones such as marble and limestone.

It is resistant to abrasion, scratches and dents. It is also hypoallergenic meaning that bacteria cannot grow, therefore resulting in an extremely hygienic and easy-to maintain surface. These properties make it suitable for kitchen worktops, bathroom vanity tops, flooring and wall cladding.

If you’re thinking about having this amazing stone in your kitchen or bathroom, visit us today to browse full whole slabs in person. Our knowledgeable sales team are on hand to help you select the perfect material for your project.

More About Quartz

Engineered quartz is made from crushed natural quartz; one of the hardest natural minerals on earth.

To make this stone, around 90-94% crushed quartz is combined with resins, polymers and pigments, creating a strong and solid surface in a variety of colours and textures. Often, small amounts of glass or metallic flecks are also added to create a light reflective surface. The appearance of the finished product depends on how the stone is ground: coarsely ground quartz produces a flecked appearance, while finely ground quartz produces a smooth look.

Extremely hard and durable; it is resistant to abrasion, scratches, cracks, dents, and even acids without the need for sealants. Being non-porous, there is no absorption. It is completely stain-proof, making it the ideal surface for any busy kitchen, especially if there are children around.

Despite being heat-resistant, the resins found in quartz can melt and mark when exposed to extremely hot temperatures. For this reason, we always recommend using trivets and mats when taking hot pans out of the oven.
