A remarkably beautiful, highly decorative natural stone that has been used in homes for centuries.
Available in a wide variety of colours all with distinctive veining, marble has always been an extremely popular choice when it comes to decorating homes. It is undeniably one of nature’s most beautiful stones and has been used throughout history to create some of the world’s most stunning structures and sculptures.
Softer and more porous than other natural stones, it is well suited to bathrooms, wet rooms and flooring, and makes a truly remarkable fireplace or fireplace hearth. Some marbles can even be used as kitchen worktops, providing the end user is fully informed of the properties and how to maintain this unique material. If you’re considering marble in any space, contact us to discuss your project in more detail.

marble-Effect Worktops
Many opt for a modern-day alternative: engineered quartz.
Marble is much softer and more porous than other natural stones, making it more difficult to care for. Man-made quartz surfaces can be manufactured with a marble-effect, meaning you get the look and feel of a marble worktop without any of the drawbacks. Quartz worktops are extremely tough, scratch and stain resistant, and an ideal alternative in both home and commercial kitchens.
We supply and install a variety of quartz brands, including our Oyster Quartz Surfaces; a classic collection of modern colours handpicked by our stone experts.
Why choose Landford Stone?
Whatever the application, our highly skilled craftspeople take great care over producing and installing your marble worktops, bathroom or flooring.
- We use state-of-the-art technology to cut whole slabs of marble and meticulously hand-finish every detail to ensure the highest quality finished product.
- Nothing leaves our factory before being quality checked. The finished article will not leave Landford Stone until it has undergone a thorough inspection and is absolutely spotless.
- We pride ourselves on our high safety and sustainability standards. Dust is a by-product of the industry and is negligible at our facility. We use recycled water to catch the particles so it is not airborne. All waste material is then returned to the ground and used underneath roads. We test our water on a weekly basis to ensure that it is clean for our factory workers and is reused again and again.
Book-matched marble
With its distinctive veining and unique patina, marble can be bookmatched.
Bookmatching is a process which involves mirroring identical pieces of marble, using the unique marbling to create a seemingly endless pattern. Bookmatching can also be achieved with other materials with similarly ornate features such as granite and marble-effect quartz.
